May Security (MS), has been providing a variety of low voltage services for over 30 years. We take special pride in being, the most mature, largest, locally owned and operated Security Business in the Valley. Our quality of work, attention to detail, quick response, experienced and local technicians separates us from the special of the day/week providers that have come and gone over the years. We have over 50 years of combined Security, Low-voltage and IT Technology services & experience.
We are located South of Downtown McCall, off Hwy 55 or 321 N. 3rd Street (.5 Mile South of May Hardware) on the East side of the road across from "The Mill Restaurant", in the "Premier Plaza" building. "We're around back...come on in!"
As many of the long-time businesses in McCall, May Hardware & May Security are rich in tradition. When Roy May started his general store in 1934 (from www.mayhardware.com website) the closest supply source was in Boise, a two day journey. Roy's philosophy was "you can't sell it if you don't have it," and he stocked his store accordingly. He was known for having everything from dynamite to fishing lures (which were sometimes used together!). That philosophy hasn't changed. Customers often marvel at the depth of products available in this little store. May Security is following the same tradition….If we don’t know it, we’ll learn it, so we can offer our customers the latest and greatest, products and services they are requesting.
Rick Fereday has been leading the May Security team for over 30 years. A lot has changed since Rick installed his first security system in the latter 70's. Technology is continually changing and new technology and services are being added to our portfolio. Addressing the ever changing technology and even greater demand on Business to Business (B to B), Business to Customer (B to C), E-communications and E-commerce Jay Masterson joined the team as the Business Manager. Scott Mackenzie has been rock solid in his commitment to complete customer satisfaction and a major contributor to May Securities success. He will continue to manage and have technical oversight on all field operations.
Rick Fereday- Rick started building the security business over 30 years ago upon a simple concept, a customer wanted a local security expert rather than going outside the community. Continuing tradition with Roy May's statement, "you can't sell it if you don't have it", Rick responded to his customers request. Rick will continue to have oversight and mentor the May Security business and team, but take a less active roll in the day-to-day activities.
Rick is actively involved with the City of McCall in several planning committees, such as the Airport Advisory and Urban Renewal Committees. Taking a step back from May Security will allow him more freedom to continue to be actively involved in the community.
Jay Masterson - Prior to May Security Jay has spent the last 15 years in the high-tech, PC industry at MPC Computers. A graduate in electronics from BSU, Jay moved from basic computer sales, to technical sales, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (Outside Sales), Enterprise Storage Sales and then Enterprise Product Marketing Manager responsible for the MPC/Gateway Server line. Jay has a proven track record of making the complex simple, ensuring customers understand what they need, how he can help and making sure they get what they expect.
"I'm extremely excited about the opportunity to expand upon the success that May Security has enjoyed by simply focusing on and taking care of their customers. In a never ending effort to continually improve ourselves, we will be automating and enhancing our communications and customer service to our customers. I love the fact that I get to work and play in this beautiful place called McCall, where my playground is out my backdoor."
Tanya Masterson - Using 35 years of Management and Operational startup experience, Tanya will be primarily responsible for back office services, ensuring well organized processes and procedures translate into continuing exceptional customer services. You will still see Tanya's bright smiling face at Payette Lakes Medical Clinic, but now you'll get to experience her exceptional customer services in two business venues.
The formation of Idaho First Bank brought Tanya to McCall to live full-time in 2005 where she worked for Idaho First Bank for over three years. Tanya loves the McCall community and is actively involved with numerous non-profit organizations, one being the McCall Arts & Humanities Council as a Board Member. Tanya loves to participate in community events and feels that businesses need to participate in a variety of ways to continue to make the McCall Community an exiting, vibrant, progressive and welcoming place it is today. Tanya will make sure May Security lives up to its reputation and will be personally committed to it being involved in the McCall community.
Scott Mackenzie - Scott has been the backbone of May Security for over 10 years. He is proficient at all aspects of the business which include office duties, dispatch, complete design and install of home audio/theater, home automation, CCTV, security and structured cabling. Scott excels at troubleshooting all types of systems and programming for various advanced controls in home automation and home audio/theater. Scott is a licensed Specialty Low-voltage Electrician and handles the oversight on all our commercial jobs, which include fire alarm installations.
Scott is part of the McCall Community Choir and when you don't see him in a singing venue, you will see him leading the spin class at Rudy's Gym or out touring the town on his road bike or gearing up for a scenic mountain road trip in his car.
Logan - You won't see much of Logan unless you look up in the rafters in new construction or poke your head into the crawl space where you'll find him hiding wires out-of-sight, out-of-mind, in retro fits. Logan is our pre-wire expert and prides himself on making what could be a nasty birds nest of wires (as we've seen from some of our competitors), into a neatly wired, easy to maintain and troubleshoot, thing of beauty.
When you don't see Logan on the job, you will find him on a river with his fishing pole or stalking turkey or big game animals in the Payette forest as he loves the great outdoors and is avid about his hunting and fishing.
